8mb compresses your photos and videos entirely on your device. Your photos and videos are never uploaded to us or anyone else. The free version shows ads, provided by Google AdMob. A one-time purchase removes them.
8mb uses your photo library only to (1) read the photo or video you choose and (2) save the compressed copy back. All compression happens entirely on your device. Your original file is never modified. Ad providers never receive your photos or videos.
The free version of 8mb shows ads from Google AdMob in the main app. (The Share extension never shows ads.) To serve and measure ads, Google may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and how you interact with ads. "Remove Ads" is a one-time purchase handled by Apple. 8mb never sees your payment details. After you buy it, the app no longer loads the ad SDK, and no ad data is collected.
We (the developer) collect nothing. 8mb has no account system and no servers of its own. The only data collection is by Google AdMob, as described above, in the free version.
8mb is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new effective date.
